The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says government of Ghana has decided an immediate evacuation of all Ghanaians living in Iran due to the growing conflict between Israel and Iran to protect their lives.
The Minister disclosed that as part of the move, Ghana’s embassy in Tehran has been closed with immediate effect. The evacuation will be done through land borders and will include Ghanaian diplomats, students, professionals, and other citizens currently in Iran.

Mr. Ablakwa also said the government is closely monitoring the situation in Israel. For now, operations at Ghana’s embassy in Tel Aviv have been reduced to the minimum, and all Ghanaians in Israel are advised to stay in close contact with the consular department for updates.
He stated that government has also called on both Israel and Iran to choose peaceful dialogue and end the violence.
“The government of Ghana reiterate it’s demand on both parties to pursue diplomatic options and end hostilities” he stated.
