Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has intensified transfer speculation surrounding his future, as he recently changed agents and is linked with a move away from West Ham United.
Kudus, a key player for the Black Stars, has joined the renowned football agency ROOF (Representatives of Outstanding Footballers), a move seen by many as a clear indication of his openness to exploring new opportunities this summer.
The timing of Kudus’s agency switch coincides with a critical window for transfer negotiations. From July 1 to July 10, Kudus has a £85 million release clause active in his contract, which Premier League clubs can activate.
Meanwhile, clubs in the Saudi Pro League would need to pay a significantly higher fee of £125 million to trigger his release clause, making this a pivotal period for interested teams to make their move.
Kudus’s potential exit comes amid intense interest from top clubs across Europe. He has been linked with several Premier League giants, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
His recent performances have only added to his appeal, with Kudus showcasing his dribbling ability by leading the Premier League in completed dribbles for two consecutive seasons.
The 24-year-old West Ham star had a decent 2024-2025 campaign, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
Despite a slightly quieter season compared to his debut, Kudus remains highly regarded for his versatility, technical skill, and attacking threat. His recent agency change and the active release clause indicate that his current club may face a significant challenge in retaining him this summer.
